Proposal for Final Assignment

Proposal:
Base on the standard suggestion from the Assignment brief i chose Sydney Opera House as my chosen architectural object. The Sydney Opera House was design by Jorn Utzon and he also my favorite architect. It had become the pride of Sydney people and Australian. I love the concept of the building by creating a community space to gather people and sharing different cultures, the harmony between nature and humanity.

Therefore, in this final project i want to explore these values of the building by using photosynth and reconstruction skill to get the 3D model of the Sydney Opera House. The model will be modified to suit with my purposes, it will show the staircases where people gather, the shell roofs that connects the ocean to mainland.

Second step to develop the concept is apply the technique of Argumented Reality that i did learn from the course, by using the software BuildAR and 3D max to design new look of the Opera House. The main idea is to make some news proposal designs for landscape and additional structures to the original building that help improve the connection between people with the building and make the building become more friendly space for viewers rather than a big beautiful sculpture.

Final step is to combine the 3D object with the model that i am designed. By using Argumented Reality skill, the 3D object of the Sydney Opera House with markers will show the new looks of the building and the viewer can actually interact with that new design by see the animations and view around the building by using marker.

Assessment criteria:
In this project i want to focus on making 3D model by reconstruction skill, creating a Reality interaction with model and making some animations to explore the idea of my design.

Exhibition setting:
The work may be display by showing the video clips and using BuildAR software to interact with my model.
